Silkscreen

Edit Content

Silkscreen

Silkscreen printing is a printing method that involves pushing ink/dye through a silk mesh screen to transfer a design onto the apparel.

Characteristics:

  • Each colour requires a separate block / stencil. With additional colours of design or multiple printing locations, a new stencil has to be set up.

Lifespan

  • Durable and long lasting

Effects & Designs

  • Work best for solid colour designs without small details, such as symbols, shapes, and geometric designs.
  • Different ink/dye used can produce different printing effects. Water dye and rubber dye are most commonly used in the printing industry.
  • Has a wide variety of colours, able to follow pantone colour
  • More art details will require more ink layers, resulting in a thicker feel on a garment.

Costing

  • More cost efficient for large quantities, as the substantial cost of setting up the stencils can be shared across.

Direct-To-Film-(DTF)-

Direct-To-Film (DTF)

Edit Content

Direct-To-Film (DTF)

Direct-to-film (DTF) printing is a heat transfer based print process. The designs will be printed onto a transfer film first, which is then covered with a thermo-adhesive powder and it will be heated to cure the ink and bond it to the DTF film. Then the design on the film is heat transferred to the apparel using a heat press machine.

Characteristics:

  • Able to print on various fabric types & can print on any colour of fabric.
  • You will feel the printed outcome slightly plasticised.
  • Not breathable on the printed area, not suitable for big picture / large-area printing.

Lifespan

  • Durable and long lasting
  • High wash and wear resistance
  • It is very elastic prints that won’t crack when stretching the fabric
  • Ironing your garment at high temperatures may cause discoloration and damage of designs

Effects & Designs

  • Able to print full coloured & gradient effect designs.
  • Works well with detailed printing as it does not require separate layers for design elements or colours.
  • Colours may deviate from your original design. To further ensure that your colours match, we offer a CMYK colour chart.

Vinyl Heat Transfer

Edit Content

Vinyl Heat Transfer

Heat transfer vinyl printing uses vinyl polymer material which is usually a single colour with a heat resistant backing. The vinyl material will be cut, weeded and then heat transfer onto the apparel.

Characteristics:

  • This technique can be applied to several fabric types
  • Only applied one colour at a time.
  • It is mostly used to do printing on jerseys, with customisation printing of individual name & number.
  • Printing can be done on the spot

Effects & Designs

  • Able to do special effect printing with different types of vinyl material used, such as glitters, flock, hologram, metallic, reflective and many more.

Lifespan:

  • Print longevity is not long, it will eventually crack, fade over and peel over time due to UV rays and repeated washes.
  • Recommend to hand wash with the shirt inside out (not advisable for machine wash)

Printing durations: 1-5 working days depends on the quantity (also can be done on the spot)

Minimum order quantity: 1pc

Embroidery

Embroidery

Embroidery is a process of creating a design by sewing or stitching onto a garment. Using various types of threads, any image, word, or shape can be embroidered onto any material. It is commonly used to display business names or logos onto apparel for uniform purposes.

Characteristics:

  • Suitable for daily wear
  • Work best on polo shirts, F1 uniforms, Caps, Towels and Outerwear.
  • Not suitable to do on lightweight garments such as microfiber jerseys material. It is often too “heavy” for it and you may notice “puckering” around the logo because the stitching creates tension.
  • Embroidery can leave a rough texture underneath, which will irritate the skin when moving around a lot

Effects & Designs

  • Have limitations in colour availability, as it relies on existing thread colours.
  • Not suitable for small, complex and detailed designs as it may appear “cramp up”
  • Unable to achieve gradient effect
  • Limited by design size, not able to do for very large designs

Lifespan:

  • Offer lasting durability and resistance to fading or losing colour over time. Even frequent washing wont damage it.
  • Require more care and maintenance during wash. Turn the clothing inside out to protect the design and avoid washing it together with any sharp objects that may snag the stitching.

Pricing:

  • Pricing generally more expensive compared to other print methods
  • Needs to open blocks for first time ordering. Will have an additional block charge for every logo / picture

Printing durations: 7-14 working days

Minimum order quantity: 10pcs
